Mangalore, Oct 18: Even as RSS think tank of the district gave an advice to the VHP leadership to find an ‘amicable solution’ with the police department in the case of Umesh Kumar the Inspector of Kavoor police station, reluctance of the protesters to spell out friendly deal has intensified the Kavoor issue.
Adding the political colour to the protest, former chief minister and BJP vice president B S Yeddyurappa took to Kavoor police station on Saturday and held brief talks with the police.
“The activists are protesting to seek justice and after I reach Bangalore, I will advance talks with the stakeholders to put the concerned Inspector under suspension.” Yeddiyurappa said.
“The RSS think tank has phoned the VHP leader Jagadish Shenava to reach a friendly deal after holding discussion with the deputy commissioner of Police Vishnuvardhan, who is dealing with the case,” said credible sources from the RSS. Moreover the source revealed that Inspector Umesh had met the RSS think tank to find a solution to the matter.
It has also been revealed that few forces within the RSS were utilizing the issue for their own benefits. “The think tank fully knowing the vested interest of few people in the case, has advised Jagadish to close the issue at the soonest,” the sources added.
As the protest reached the second day, both the parties resorted to their own strategies and counter strategies. This was evident from the futile talks which did not produce any solution.
When asked about what transpired between the police department and the BJP vice president, the DCP declined to comment. However he told later that police have not wielded any strategy in this case.
