Mangalore, Oct 16: Health and family welfare minister U T Khadar on Thursday October 16 announced the launch of a new application, 'Healthizen', to resolve hospital related problems.

The app, the first of its kind in the country, will be active from October 17, Khadar said.

The new app would initially work in an experimental basis, limiting its reach only to Bangalore, and later it would cover the entire state. "People can capture the photo of the hospital they have a complain about and upload it to the app. Since the GPS is installed in the system, the monitoring team consisting of experts will trace the hospital to sort out the problem," he explained

However, he hinted the app would mainly deal with the cleanliness of the hospitals functioning across the state.

He further said this was the first app of its kind in India developed by his team, and that the union health minister had asked for the software to expand the reach.

The launching of the application will be jointly done by the chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah and union health minister Harshavardhan, he informed. The application will be available in Google Play store for mobile users to download.

People can report inadequate facilities and other issues at primary health centers and government hospitals, including heaps of garbage piled up in the hospital vicinity to the government in one click, Khadar said.

Mr Health minister, please fix your own constituency first and then come up will all these bogus plans which will only be in paper.
What good move? Anyone who has visited his constituency knows the actual situation. The road from Thokkotu to Deralakatte is in such a mess. There are 3 hospitals there and our so called health minister has least interest to fix it. They are in such worst situation that ambulances get stuck in traffic and potholes, pregnant ladies will get free delivery or abortion when travelling in this road, 2 wheelers and kids are sure to get asthma and back problems. He just goes around places giving press conferences and does nothing. Useless.

Thank you sir, but most of the people will not know how to use it. There should be complaint box in and outside the hospital premises installed and controlled by Health officials (not hospital) where people can mention the irregularities in the hospital.

First let him provide good roads so that patients can reach the hospitals. Have you seen the condition of the roads from Thokkotu to Deralakatte? There are 3 hospitals there and god save the patients in case of emergency. The road has such big potholes and also is so narrow. Can you please tell him to fix it so that patients and doctors can reach the hospitals.
