Mangalore, Oct 16: Communist Party of India (CPI) DK, held a protest to condemn the central government's stance on non-controlling price increase here on Thursday October 16 in front of the DC's office.
Addressing the media, CPI district secretary P Sanjeeva lambasted the BJP led central government for not reducing the price of daily necessities. "The central government is not serious about the people who are facing problems due to the price increase. BJP is following the footsteps of the UPA goverment. BJP is not taking into account that the price increase is making a huge impact on the society. Due to the price increase in the market, people are struggling and government is saying 'Ache Din Aayega.' But the 'Ache Din' has come for the industrialists and big businessmen. The government is not taking any actions on the intermediaries for increasing the price on the food products."
"Citizens all over India are protesting. The Modi government is not taking any further steps in reducing the prices. Modi has fooled everyone. Before cleaning the streets of India, your soul should be clean from all sorts of corruption. But the BJP is filled with lot of corruption and everybody knows about it. Parents are not able to send their children to school due to the price increase. In 68 years of the Congress and BJP rule, they have fooled everyone and still they are doing the same thing," he added.
"Petrol prices have reached the skies and BJP does not talk about it. Just to get power, BJP made fake promises to the people. Educational institutions do not accept students unless they give donations. Even the institutions are corrupt," he said.
AITUC president V Kukyan, secretary H V Rao, CPI district secretaries V S Berinja, B Shekar and others were also present during the protest.
