Mangalore, Oct 15: Mangaloru Hadinalkupatna Moogaveera Samyuktha Sabha organized a protest demanding the arrest of Sathish Baikampady for alleged accused in the murder of Ganghadar Pangal.
Ganghadar Pangal, Moogaveer community leader was killed in a road accident at Surthkal on May 15.
The protest was organized at DC's office here on Wednesday October 15.
Addressing the protest, community leader, Advocate Gangadhar H said, "Even months after the murder of Gangadhar Pangal, police have failed to arrest the accused Sathish Bykampady. We had organized a peaceful protest demanding the arrest and also submitted a memorandum to the home minister and police commissioner through DC but the accused Sathish Bykampady is still absconding. The police department has failed to arrest the accused. Karnataka police has a good name and they were successfully in nabbing various notorious criminals but in this case there not showing any interest to arrest the accused. Police should arrest Sathish Baikampadi immediately and government should hand over the case to COD.
Rajiv Kanchan, president of Mangaloru Hadinalkupatna Moogaveera Samyuktha Sabha said, "The Moogaveer community had organized peaceful protests demanding the arrest of Sathish Baikampady and others. But the police have failed to arrest him; the police has to immediately arrest the accused.
State minister U T Khader who was present at the protest venue received the memorandum from the protesters.
Community leader Chandrahas and others were present on the occasion.
