Mangalore, Oct 14: Bunty a-five year old tigress who was attacked by Kumar, a-seven-year-old, died in at Pilikula Biological Zoo here on Monday October 13.
Dr Jayaprakash Bhandary of Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Biological Park, speaking to daijiworld said, "The tigress was severely injured due to injuries on the neck and trachea and hence she succumbed to injuries at around 10 at night."
The body of the tiger was taken for a post mortem and was later cremated.

Mangalore, Oct 13: Kumar, a-seven-year-old zoo tiger attacked and wounded Bunty a-five year old female tigress when it was put for mating at Pilikula Biological Zoo, here on Monday, October 13.
"Two compatible pairs of animals were put together in an enclosure in morning. Animals were calm for several hours. In the evening, the male tiger suddenly pounced on female tigress injuring her severely”, said Dr Jayaprakash Bhandary of Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Biological Park.
He further informed that being a mating season the tiger pair was put together for mating. But in this case, the male tiger got aggressive and wounded the female.
The tigress has sustained serious injury on its neck. Veterinary officer is treating the tigress.
