Bangalore, Oct 13: A rowdy was hacked to death and three others were injured in a gang war near Gangotri Circle at Jai Bheema Nagar on Sunday afternoon in Bangalore.

Babu alias ‘Nakara’ Babu (40) was the person killed. Babu’s associates Vishwanath alias Vishwa (29), Heeralal Prasad (35), and Lakshmanan (30) were injured in the attack. Vishwanath and Prasad have many cases registered against them in various police stations.

It is believed that the Babu’s murder is a revenge act for the gruesome murder of Vijay Kumar a rowdy-sheeter in June.
Vijay Kumar alias Kavala (40) was brutally hacked to death in Hosur in Tamil Nadu, by five miscreants, who blocked his car near the state border, threw chilli powder on his face and attacked him with weapons.

Babu was the prime accused in Kavala’s murder. He had recently come out of jail after securing bail.

Kavala and Babu were once friends. Later, they parted ways following a financial dispute. It is suspected that Babu killed Kavala as he was attacking his men. Babu’s associate Shivu was also allegedly killed by Kavala.

According to reports, the members of Babu’s gang and Kavala’s gang were called for a compromise meeting to social worker Raj Kamal’s house at Jai Bheema Nagar. Raj Kamal who knew both the parties had agreed to be a mediator.

When Babu and his men were waiting on the ground floor of Raj Kamal’s house, two white Innova cars arrived and 12 men came out of from them. Sensing the danger, Babu and his associates ran to the first floor where Raj Kamal and his family lived. The attackers followed them.

Raj Kamal had covered the corridor on the first floor of his house with a huge board wishing happy birthday to actor Kamal Hassan, which made difficult for the people to see what happened inside. Neighbours could only hear the screams and see the men running outside.

Soon after the killing, the 12 men rushed into their Innovas and escaped from the scene. Minutes after the incident, the Madiwala police rushed to the scene after they were informed by the public.
With at least four CCTV cameras in the house, the police believe that they might get the images of the killers. City Police Commissioner M N Reddi said that the police have definite clues and will nab the attackers soon.
Raj Kamal, who had organised the mediation, is absconding and a manhunt has been launched to nab him and the attackers.
Madiwala police are investigating.
