Bangalore, Oct 12: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested fertility expert K T Gurumurthy (40) in a cheating case involving a surrogate child in Bangalore on Saturday.
The self proclaimed embryologist Gurumurthy is the founder and managing director of Shrushti Global Medical Care and Charitable Trust, Havanoor circle, Basaveshwaranagar in Bangalore.
The fertility expert has been arrested on the charges of cheating a surrogate father by giving a seven month old baby, which the DNA tests confirmed that the surrogate father was not the biological father.
Earlier in January this year, Nandini layout police had arrested Gurumurthy after at least 19 women filed cheating and sexual harassment cases against him.
In this present case of cheating, it has been revealed that surrogate father was cheated in 2008.
"Gurumurthy took Rs 3.5 lakh from the surrogate father and handed him over a seven month old infant. Suspecting amiss, the surrogate father recently subjected the infant to DNA test and the reports proved that the surrogate father was not the biological father. Gurumurthy has sold someone's child to the surrogate father," police sources revealed. The complainant is a security supervisor named Don Bosco from Mudalapalya.
