Mysore: Bad results in SSLC? Teachers' names to be published

Daijiworld Media Network – Mysore (RJP)

Mysore, Oct 12: "Teachers responsible for poor performance of their students in SSLC examinations year after year will have their names published in the education ministry’s bulletin," Kimmane Ratnakar, education minister  has warned.

He was speaking in a review meeting of the education department in Mysore.

"Same teachers teaching the same subject for years has contributed to the bad results. Hence the ministry has decided to publish the names of such teachers in the bulletin and communiqué in this regard has been already sent to DDPIs," he added.

"The incidents of some teachers adding bogus names of students in the attendance register have come to the government’s notice. Government is contemplating of bringing in a new system of submission of the photos of students with their parents. It has been also observed that some teachers are doing some insurance work without devoting enough time for their teaching. Strict action will be initiated against them," the minister revealed in the meeting.

For Bad results - first lets us have question ourselves. Is it only teacher's are responsible in this line ? I have observed that Children failing even in Kannada subject. They do not know how to write their name properly in language subject like Kannada / English or Hindi. That means From 1st standard to 9th standard what are they have learnt ? How our current education system bring these student up to SSLC. So, I want an answer from our Beloved Education Minister.

You should have been names "Kamine " Ratnakar .
Most stupidest comment ever and that too by a Education minister..
Instead of motivating the teacher's stating that the best teachers name will be published, you have come up with a stupidest idea...Hope you are educated Mr Education Minister

" Kimmane Ratnakar, education minister"... Looks like you have not got proper education .

Good scores depends on the performance of the individual student.

If all the students fail every year because of one particular teacher, then there is some problem with the teacher...else its just because the student does not spend time in learning..

Would you publish your party leaders name saying hes a failure, if all your party workers do not win the elections ???

Our state education system must be handed over to Private NGOs for better results. Govt must do the job of providing funds and inspecting the educational institutions.

Education is not a cup of tea of the Govt. Simply give this ministry to the private NGOs. All the best Sir Kimmane!

It is wrong to insult the teachers what ever the reason. Now a days going to school only for attendance and poor parents sending their children to tuition. Students involving unnecessary strike, protest. Busy in text, chatting. Same time teachers also not giving 100% as they know children going for Tuition.

Some schools admitting only brillient students that is those got 70 percent and above and obtaining cent percent result.Hence education department can insist to admit a minimum of 30 percent students who got below who got less than 45 percent marks and 10 percent students who got just 35 percent marks to their school to evaluate the performance of the students as well the schools. It is the unwritten policy of the education department to admit all the students who seek admission to Kannada medium even they do not know all alphabets of Kannada scipt or unable to add 2 plus 3 correctly.Let the minister desist sending school teachers for cat.dog and human beings census and so many election duties.

I don't see the logic in publishing the name here ,yes if the students of a teacher are performing well consistently , then the teacher should given recognition , not a well thought out decision. Some teachers are biased and not competent let the school or DDPI take action on those,do not pressurize the entire teaching community.

    Dear Minister,
Appreciate your initiative which is something new, but looks like this will have more negative impact on children.

In my opinion, you should implement some reward programme to the school and teachers who gets highest results and publish name of school and teacher's in your official bulletin.

I am sure this should work and encourage all teachers to get the better results for their schools.

    2. parents give touch screen samsung grand mobile gift during exam
    3. give bike to roam with friends with internet connection
giving all this facilites teachers are afraid to speak with students with little high pictch becoz children harrasment case.

i think teacher are treated so cheap and this will make country ROWDY RAJYA.

tuition teacher will never take students who are weak in studies because they cannot scold or pressure to studies and if student to bad in exam their name will spoil. lets Kemmane teach these kind students and understand teachers difficulties.

SSLC students whatever their results they get all is on teachers, till sslc its just like a foundation of their Life which is built by school authorities and their parents, if their performance is like this in this nw wat would be their future, Complete spoon feeding am not taking about that, but student mind set is diverted toward other activities just like social media completing waiting of time,
Even Teachers who teach she/He should be good enough to teach students in a better way and motivate them and be d about each and every student to princy and their parents.

If teachers are good automatically students ll be extra talented they ll never score less, i have studied in such a school in spite of paying lot of fees teachers had knowledge their teaching always use to go above all the students head. make foundation stronger You ll get good doctors scientist engineers business mans etc etc....

..I dont think Govt is doing a right thing..it will demoralizing teachers..In our times we are beaten by teachers for bad hand writing, for not doing home works, not doing well in exams..Its fear factor most of the students try hard to pass in exam..but if today if a teacher beat student he will end up in jail..Govt should know that its collective responsibility of student, parents & teachers..how can Govt single out teacher for poor results??..

Yes Mr. Ramesh i agree you'r point, But i have came across situation like even teachers also should be talented in teaching, some teachers are not educated enough to teach but those teachers are recruited by the management because they are paid less compare to the talented teacher who demand more salary, i request Govt to give better salaries for teachers as per their qualification knowldge, i have seen such a schools were teachers are working for salary Rs 5000 6000. for higher education, is that fare enough to students to have teachers like this.

yep Govt In favor of students done many mistakes they pulled all the authorities from teachers.
    Lets Hope good in future.

While we are studying no need to study at home ,the education level was very high at school teachers very strict and teaching very good. Now a days teachers are not teaching properly because they open there tuition institutes and students need to go there to learn proper education. This has to stop then only students will get good education.

Instead of humiliating teachers, levy small amount of penalty or withhold promotions.
Unwanted political affiliations and social circles should be made accountable for diminishing results.
    Their recognition should be withheld.
However if teachers are penalized or humiliated, they will vent their anger on poor students.
More motivational avenues should be invented and encouraged.

Teachers doing insurance work for extra revenue, is that new news? To supplement their supposedly low salaries (not sure if that is true), some of the respected teacher folks have been taking advantage of that respect & selling Insurance & other fraud schemes to people. They get 5-40% commisions, then who would not sell. No wonder, teachers get a fixed salary from school and then swindle people legally as a part time extra income. Anyways most people do not know what these products are, and they put their entire money & few years later they learn that they got only 3-5% returns in best cases OR they lost the entire money because some real estate market went down :( sad case of some teachers and gullible people. Lawyers you can make a killing by filing cases in these scenario's....anybody listening!!

Not those who are reason for bad results but those who do not correct the papers genuinely and honestly to be punished.

If a student who fared as a topper requires to send her/his papers for re-evaluation, that is certainly the fault of the teacher who corrected a particular answer paper.

Shame that evaluating staff are doing their duty grudge-fully, causing mental trauma to students. Many students/parents just give up because even re-evaluation costs money and they don't trust the authority anymore.
