Bangalore: P P Hegde elected chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council

Bangalore, Oct 9: Advocate P P Hegde has been elected chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council. Advocate Anil Kumar J M has been elected vice-chairman. Both of them were elected unopposed.

Advocate P P Hegde has been practicing his profession from two decades. He has offices in Mangalore, Bangalore and Delhi. He is extremely popular in his profession and has fought several important cases. He is the youngest lawyer to have been elected as the chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council.

P P Hegde had secured the first rank in Mangalore University in LLB, and also in Kuvempu University in LLM. He has been elected for the Bar Council for the second time in succession. He had served as vice-chairman of the council earlier. This is the first time that a Mangalorean has become the chairman of the state Bar Council.

The newly-elected chairman and the vice-chairman will accept their positions in the office of the Bar Council, Bangalore on October 11 at 12 noon, said election officer R V Srirama Reddy in his communique.
