Mangalore, Oct 15: As per the directions of the government, the investigation in the two murder cases which were reported during the recent riots here have been handed over to the Cops of Detectives (CoD).
Home Minister M P Prakash in Bangalore ordered the CoD probe.
In connection with the Polali murder case, the Bantwal Police have already arrested 13 persons and recovered some weapons used in the commission of this offence.
A total persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of Gafoor. Apart from Vijayprakash alias Pakku (24) and Padmaraj alias Paddu (23), Gopala (25) of Beltangady and Pramod Suvarna (18) of Venoor have also been arrested.
All the accused were nabbed on Oct 13 by the Investigation Officer Chandrashekhar PI South PS from Mangalore city.
A total of 17 members have been arrested in connection with the violence that took place in B C Road on Friday.
