New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): Her forte is mixing contemporary cuts with traditional garments. To "embody" her collection’s "philosophy", designer Neeta Bhargava has zeroed in on renowned Kuchipudi artists Bhavana and Yamini Reddy as her showstoppers for her show at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015.
The five-day fashion extravaganza started here Wednesday and Bhargava will present her collection Sunday. The two dancers will flaunt white organic fiber based ensembles with hand painting and threadwork, said a statement.
“My collection this season is about breathable fashion - free flowing, nature inspired garments that possess style, expression and comfort. The looks bring new dimension to traditional handlooms with an artistic and edgy twist,” said Bhargava.
“As showstoppers, Bhavana and Yamini embody the collection’s philosophy. They are both young talented artists who are taking traditional Indian arts to another level. It’s nice to see this generation succeeding in reviving our arts,” said the designer about her show stoppers.
Bhargava's collection has been titled “Unmaze the Haze” and reflects the designer’s anguish over atrocities on Mother Earth through the use of smoky grey textures and motifs.
