Marla, Setia represent India at Duke of Edinburgh Cup


New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): Amateur golfers Dinkar Marla and Sanjay Setia are representing India in the ongoing Duke of Edinburgh Cup that will conclude Thursday at the private course of the royal family at Windsor Castle, London.

The duo qualified for the main event after they returned with a combined score of 74 points in a charity event at the Delhi Golf Club, which was also the qualifier of prestigious, that was attended by golf legend Colin Montgomerie last month.

"Spending some time with the great legend was a treat in itself. The instructions given by Colin at the golf course helped me and Setia winning this tournament and I am sure that we will go to Windsor with all his tips and make the corporate India proud," said Marla, director, Business World magazine, who was the winner of Audi Open 2012 National Final and went to Dubai to represent India.

The 36-hole world final takes place over two days on two prestigious golf courses close to London and it will end Thursday. There is also an additional friendly match with the members at the Royal Household Golf Club, the private course at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Edinburgh Cup is a charity event with Royal Patronage dedicated to helping young people world wide by providing and giving support in Health, Education and Welfare.
