Mangalore, Oct 7: A garbage row induced fight, made several people visit hospitals for injuries.

The incident took place at Mogaru Arbi near Ganjimat. Complaints and counter complaints in this regard have been registered at the Bajpe police station.

The public at Mogaru Arbi had earlier complained to the panchayat and police station about the disposal of garbage at a particular unauthorised place. A group of people decided to spy and catch the person involved in the act. On Sunday, the group allegedly saw a person named Zuber from Kuppepadav dumping garbage.

Arguments between Zuber and the group turned unpleasant. Zuber phoned and summoned his people from Kuppepadav and Mularpatna. The people who came in large numbers only added fuel to the fire. The fight which went on between the two groups had some casualties. The injured Dejamma, Nitish, Sandeep and Sadasiva were taken to the district government hospital for treatment. Sadasiva lodged a police complaint at Bajpe police station regarding the issue.

Later Zuber also complained to the police that while he was on his way from Ganjimat to Mularpatna in his car, he was stopped and attacked by a group of people and thus was admitted to a private hospital.

Police are on alert as it did not seem to be a problem of garbage alone.
