Bangalore: Media reports about my footwear at Dasara event false, tweets Siddu

Bangalore, Oct 5 (PTI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today expressed displeasure on the media reports that he was wearing footwear while showering petals on goddess Chamundeshwari during Vijaya Dashami celebrations, as part of Dasara festivities at Mysore yesterday.

Siddaramaiah, in a statement released through the state Information Department, said he has highest respect for goddess Chamundeshwari and would never do anything that will hurt the sentiments of the people.

Stating that the reports were false, he said creating such unnecessary controversy would harm the happy atmosphere during the festivities and it is also not good for the society.

The "Jumbo savari", observed in the royal style since the days of the erstwhile Mysore Maharajas to mark the end of 10-day-long Dasara festivities, took place yesterday with Siddaramaiah showering petals on goddess Chamundeshwari, the presiding deity of the historical city.

A section of media had reported that the Chief Minister was wearing footwear while offering flowers to the goddess.

Siddaramaiah also tweeted on the issue with some pictures as evidence.

"I wore Black shoes & ankle length White socks for Dasara Utsava. Truth is in these pics. #FalseMediaReports" Siddaramaiah tweeted.

He said "When the jumbo savari of Chamundeshwari approached the dais, I removed my black shoes, climbed up the ladder & ushered flowers to Goddess".

He further tweeted that "Several MediaHouses & few people on social media are spreading rumours that I was wearing white shoes while i was seeking her blessings".

"Please do not spread rumours or rely on unreliable info. The truth is in these pictures, I have uploaded! #FalseMediaReports" he added.

I do agree with Mr. Siddaramayya after seeing this two pictures, this time he is not sleeping.

But it is unusual to wear socks when you are on Dhoti, that also short socks. (Sports socks using during jogging).

I think from distance Media people assumed it is a white coloured shoe. But without confirmation, publishing wrong information in media is wrong & unfortunate.

Wake up media, don’t try to fill up your pages blindly. After all he is a CM , at least respect his Chair & forget about the party. Wrong is wrong.

1.Given an option this present CM would have 'skipped' the function!
2.We all know his rantings. He does all this rituals without his 'heart' being in it! Better if you don't, if you do not want to, Mr.CM!
    3. Comes to mind the deed of the late YSR of Andhra Pradesh. He broke the 'ritual' of a CM (ruler)

The next CM, Rosaiha ran to the Lord the moment he was chosen CM!!
Some things inspite of being too modern and all that stuff, one has to follow.
If not, you will be made to follow the hard way..at least here in India!!

YSR was one of the Trustees of Tirupathi temple. Even though he was christian he held that post. He wanted to divert temple funds to build Mosque and churches. Anyway he paid a heavy price at the end.
Can Hindu become a trustee of a church or Mosque ?

while coming from mothers womb child comes out with residual umbilical cord attached and engulfed with other fluids.that does no drive mother away.rather it has to be cleaned thouroghly by mother or nurse.

in the same way in hindu customs when entering temples, hindus should never have meat, alchohol ,bath themselves and then wash thier feet while entering temples.thats why our ancestors told "cleanliness is next to godliness".

Instaed o doubting on RSS for everything better accept the fact that Sidhdhu does not believe in Hindu Gods and what he did to Hindu Goddess Chamundeshwari is just cursing. It is also fact that he had even non-veg on that day and was impure to carry out the rituals of the occasion.

Let Sidhdhu be frank to say, I do not believe in Hindu Gods, rather being FEKU...
