Mumbai, Oct 4: The annual ‘Dasarotsava’ celebrations are in progress at the Mahishamardhini Temple in Borivli West. A public ‘Chandika Homa’ was held on the morning of Thursday October 2 and ‘Annasantarpane’ was held in the afternoon.
Priest Nandakumar Tantri held the ‘Panchamratha Abhisheka’, ‘Tanu Tambila’, ‘Gana Homa’, ‘Kalasha Abhisheka’, ‘Pradhana Homa’, ‘Mahapooja’, and ‘Navarathri Pooja’ and said that all the people should participate in Dasara festivities and obtain the blessings of the deity Sri Devi.
The group of priests from the temple offered prayers to Mahishamardhini Devi, Ganapathi, Rakteshwari Devi, and Kodamanithaya. Chief priest Venkatramana Tantri led the worship and distributed ‘Theertha Prasada’.
Kanajaru Kolakebail Pradeep C Shetty and Shalini Pradeep C Shetty supervised the religious programmes. Members of the temple committee Kallamandkur Hariyalaguthu Jayaraj Sridhar Shetty, Swapna J Shetty, Jayapali Ashok Shetty, Jayanth Chandayya Shetty, temple priests and
devotees, social worker Virar Shanker Shetty, Shivarama Shetty Dahisar, Ganesh Ermal, Praveen Shetty, Jayashree B Shetty, and Revathi N Shetty participated in the religious programme.
Mahishamardhini Bhajana Mandali rendered ‘bhajans’. Hundreds of devotees participated in the Chandika Homa and obtained the grace of the deity Sri Devi.
‘Bhakthi Geethe’ programme was held on the evening of Friday October 3. Public ‘Sri Durga Namaskaara Pooja’, ‘Maharanga Pooja’, and ‘Theertha Prasada’ programmes will also be held in the evening. ‘Bhajans’, ‘Tulabhara Seve’, and ‘Dasara Pooja’ will be held in the morning on Saturday October 4.
