Dharamsala, Oct 3 (IANS): Five women will walk the ramp in this Himachal Pradesh town here for the second edition of Miss Himalaya Pageant 2014, organisers said Friday.
"Five women will compete for the Miss Himalaya Pageant to be held in McLeodganj (a suburb in Dharamsala) from Oct 4-5," the pageant's director-producer Lobsang Wangyal told IANS.
The five contestants are Dawa Dema, 22, Jyoti Dogra, 22, Kuenzang Choden, 23, Priyanka Dogra, 24 and Shikha Sharma, 20.
"They are all enthusiastic and ambitious in life, and want to become role models in society," Wangyal said.
They would go through three rounds that include talk and talent Rounds Oct 4 and introduction, traditional costume, and interview rounds on the final day.
"Arunachal Pradesh Tourism and Water Resource Minister Pema Khandu has sponsored the first prize of Rs.100,000 for the winner," Wangyal said.
The second prize of Rs.50,000 is given by Japan-based organisation Rainbow Children and the third prize of Rs.25,000 is sponsored by the United Nations for a Free Tibet (UNFFT).
