Incheon, Oct 1 (IANS): Indian greco-roman wrestlers had a poor day in office as all four - Gurpreet Singh, Manoj Kumar, Sandeep Yadav and Dharmender Dalal - were knocked out of their respective weight categories at the 17th Asian Games here Wednesday.

Dharmender started the losing trend with a 0-4 verdict to Iran's Bashir Babajanzadeh in the 130 kg 1/8 final at the Dowon Gymnasium.

The Iranian raced to whopping 8-0 lead in the first period and was declared the winner on the basis of greater superiority with the Indian failing to score a point.

Gurpreet then gave Indians some hope by winning his 75 kg 1/8 final against Qatar's Bakhit Sharif Badr 4-0 on the basis of greater superiority, building up a massive 10-0 lead inside the first quarter.

But it proved to be a false dawn as he went down 1-3 in the last-eight match against Iran's Payam Bouyeri on technical points, securing only two points as against seven by his opponent.

South Korea's Hyeonwoo Kim won gold in the category, beating Japan's Takehiro Kanakubo 3-0 on technical points.

In 66 kg, Sandeep was beaten 0-4 by Tajikistan's Khusrav Obloberdiev. The Indian conceded a lead of 0-10 in the first quarter for the match to be stopped and awarded to the Tajik wrestler.

Manoj capped off India's disappointment, bowing 0-3 to China's Fei Peng on technical points.
