Mangalore: ABVP protests against alleged police attack on students

Mangalore, Sep 30: ABVP organized a protest against ASI Shrikala and other staff for allegdly assaulting students with no reasons. Nursing students of the college also alleged that police entered the college premises without any permission from the pricipal or college authorities and assaulted students while they were playing in the college premises on Saturday September 27.
Protest rally was organized from the premises of Wenlock hospital to police commissioner office.
Addressing the protest, nursing student Rama Madhav said, "Vinay and Rajiv were unnecessarily assaulted without any reason. ASI Shrikala with her staff entered the college premises without the permission from the principal. She also used abusive langauge towards the students. One of the students was handicapped. The students were admitted to hospital"
Jayaprakash, District Organizing Secretary said, "ASI Shrikala and her staff have assaulted the students. When we approached the police authorities, they refused to file a case. Hence, today we are submitting a memorandum to the commissioner to take proper action. Instead of attacking the innocents, let her take action on those who misuse girls photos on facebook and on those who commit sexual assault. If we do not get justice, we will hold a massive protest."
Commissioner R Hithendra assured the protesting students that DySP will enquire regarding the incident and action will be taken. ABVP city secreatary Jayesh P K was present for the protest.
