Kasargod, Sep 30: On account of a bomb threat which turned out of be a hoax, the Kasargod police are on their way to Mangalore for further investigations.
On Sunday at around 7 pm the police control room had received three phone calls saying that a bomb was planted at the Kasargod railway station.
The bomb squad which was called in made sure that all was well after spending half an hour looking for the bomb which was not to be found as it was a hoax. The passengers at the station were inconvenienced for no real reason. The Malabar express and Parashurama express trains were stopped at Kumble and Kotikulam respectively during the time of the search.
Now there is a lead in the case. Police have learnt that the calls were made from Mangalore. The cyber cell is assisting the Kasargod police. They have revealed that the person who made the calls has been already identified and they are on their way to apprehend him after necessary further investigations.
Bomb hoax calls have taken place several times at the Kasargod railways station in the past.
