Tamil film exhibitors to fast in support of Jayalalitha


Chennai, Sep 29 (IANS): Members of Tamil Film Exhibitors Association will fast Tuesday in solidarity with former Tamil Nadu chief Minister J. Jayalalitha, who was jailed Saturday for corruption.

All shows in all theatres across the state Tuesday stand cancelled.

"We plan to fast to extend our support to Amma (Jayalalitha). We can't comment on the verdict. But since she's done so much for film industry, this is the least we could do for her," an Association member told IANS.

AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa was taken into judicial custody in Bangalore Saturday after a special court sentenced her to four years in prison on corruption charges.

She was fined Rs.100 crore and she stands disqualified as a legislator.

    law is same to all. so ..if she done lot to film industry....let them pay what ever jaya amma amazed illegal wealth which she earned illegally.
    distribute her sentence to all film tamil industry...
    ahhha what a rubbish.....respect the law..tamil film industry. cancel all shows for a month.... who will suffer.....pOOOR GUYS......you only...ahhha ahhaaaa
