Mysore, Sep 27: A person who sent an email to the Mysore police commissioner claiming that bombs had been planted in different parts of the city has been arrested by the Mysore CCB police.
The arrested is identified as Pradeep (25), a BCA student from SIT locality of Tumkur.
The accused had sent the said e-mail on September 21, saying that Hizbul Mujahideen chief had targeted Mysore Dasara celebrations and time bombs and RDX were kept in 30 different places of the city.
Nazarbad police station had registered the case and the Mysore police commissioner Dr M A Salim had entrusted the case to Mysore CCB.
Through investigations the police learnt that the email was sent from Tumkur. They later nabbed the email sender from his hometown. Now the accused has claimed that he was unhappy with the present social system and hence sent the email with disgust.
Mysore DCP, A N Rajanna and CCB ACP, K N Madayya led the operations. The arrested has been remanded in police custody.
