Incheon, Sep 27 (IANS) Three athletes from Nepal have gone missing from the 17th Asian Games being held here.
The missing athletes are a sepaktakraw player who went missing Wednesday and two wushu participants who were missing from the athletes' village Thursday, Xinhua quoted the official Asiad Daily as saying Saturday.
"Through closed-circuit television footage, we confirmed that he (the sepaktakraw player) had disappeared," said Jung Ki Young, the Asian Games organising committee's director of international relations.
"He was going to go back to his country after the match. He, however, disappeared from the venue."
The sepaktakraw player has been identified as Aman Pode by Nepali news website eKantipur, which said the wushu players were Sombir Tamang and Nirajan Ale Magar.
Jung said the committee was informed of the disappearances by the Nepal chef de mission and that the team was in possession of the athletes' passports.
Jung explained that accreditation to the Games meant the athletes could remain in South Korea legally until Oct 19.
