Mangalore, Sep 26: The Pandeshwar police on Friday September 26 arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Durgaprasad Shetty that took place on September 22 at Gorigudde here.
The arrested are Santosh Karkala alias Santosh Shettigar (38), a resident of Jeppinamogaru, Sandesh Kotian (21) of Yekkur, Pavan Shetty (20) of Shaktinagar, and Harshith Shetty (21) of Maroli.
Santosh, the prime accused in the case, was taken into custody near Navabharat circle in the city, while the other three were rounded up in Udupi.
During interrogation, the four of them admitted to have murdered Durgraprasad Shetty of Yadapadavu at Gorigudde on September 22, police said.
The accused are being questioned further. All the four accused have been involved in several different cases in various police stations, said the police.
The arrest operation was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner R Hitendra, DCP Dr K V Jagadish, DCP Vishnuvardhan, Mangalore South sub-divisional ACP Pawan Nejjoor, and led by CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza, Pandeshwar police inspector Dinakar Shetty, along with other police personnel.
