Mangalore,  Oct 6: Some West Asia based non-resident Indians (NRIs) today expressed concern over the group clashes and violent incidents reported in the city late on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to them, such incidents may come in the way of flow of investments to Mangalore region.

Addressing presspersons B R Shetty, managing director, New Medical Centre, Dubai, and a leading businessman of Dubai who spoke on behalf of a group of NRIs said that such incidents and observing bandh will tarnish the image of Mangalore region abroad.

Investors who were eager to investment in Mangalore region may change their mind. "Communal harmony should be maintained,'' he said.

Shetty said that with the commencement of direct flight service between Dubai and Mangalore from October 3 Mangalore was all set for economic growth.
