Mumbai, Sep 26: The 14th general body meet of Malaika Multistate Cooperative Credit Society, a subsidiary of Malaika Group of companies was held at St Joseph Church hall in Seethalnagar in Meera road east recently.
The programme was presided by Gilbert P Baptist, executive president and Managing Director of Malaika Group of Companies.
Fr Nelson Pinto (OCD), chief priest of St Joseph's Church, chief guest of the occasion, lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. Businessmen Clipton D' Silva, finance department official Uttam Chavan, Malaika group director Marcelina G Baptist, society chief auditor CA Ishwar H Chawhan, member and auditor Manohar R Shetty were present on the dais as chief guests.
Fr Nelson speaking on the occasion said that business is possible only by give and take policy. "It is necessary to think big with a spirit of sacrifice and transparency in order to succeed. The company has been selling household items on installments which shows their greatness," he said. He hoped that the organization may develop as a bank soon.
"The customers and shareholders of the company are instrumental to the success of the company. We have devoted the company for them. The company is thriving with a vision understanding the needs of common people and providing them. The organization has received deposits of Rs 84.20 crores during the financial year 2013-14 has Rs 93.98 crores advances and 10.04 lacs shares. It has earned a profit of Rs 40.85
lacs. It is active in Thokkottu, Mangalore and Bantwal B C Road branches," he added.
"The company has extended financial assistance to many school children. It has provided household items to customers and encouraged consumers," said society rxecutive president Gilbert Baptist. He announced a dividend of 14% to the shareholders. Locals Leo Fernandes, Benedicta B Rebello, Cyprian Albuquerque, Felix D'Souza Malvani. John G Mendoca, St Joseph's Konkani Welfare Assocation's John Crasta, Arun Noronha, other elite people and Malaika company representatives were present. Executive president Gilbert Baptist presented bouquets to representatives, elite and honorued them.
Marcelina Baptist, Manohar Shetty and Sonika G Baptist presented bouquets to elite and felicitated them. Noel Mascarenhas read the report of previous year. Clipton D'Silva gave information on Malaika company and Reji Cherian gave information on Malaika company's annual trips to the centers of pilgrimage.
Society members Loyal Baptist, Sushanth S Sabath, Seraphina Lopes and Alphonsa Corda were present. Fr Nelson Pinto offered a thanksgiving mass before the programme. Franklin Castelino welcomed, Malaika G Baptist proposed vote of thanks. The programme got over after National Anthem.
