Bahrain, Sep 25: A non-resident Indian and successful youth activist Leeladhar Baikampady has been unanimously chosen for the coveted ‘Rashtriya Bhushan’ national award for his selfless and continual contributions to the diversified fields of land & language, literature, culture, charity, youth organizing.
He has been also involved in social service activities from the past 27 years.
Starting from very early age, he has engaged himself in serving the society and humanity through his multidimensional activities in undivided South Kanara, Bangalore, Mumbai and in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His invaluable contributions to the multiple fields are assessed on the basis of numerous activities and exemplary services carried out by him on his own capacity and by getting involved in various associations based in different locations in India and abroad.
A finance manager by profession, Leeladhar Baikampady has been living in the Kingdom of Bahrain from the past 16 years and involved in the activities of various associations in Bahrain, Mumbai, Bangalore and Undivided South Kanara. He also serves the society in his individual capacity and through family foundation.
He has been well-recognized as youth activist, youth organizer, social & charity activist, writer, award winning stage artist, progressive thinker and a dynamic youth leader.
He will be conferred with this esteemed ‘Rashtriya Bhushan’ award by the Bangalore based ‘Bharath Rathna Sir M Visvesvaraya Foundation’ which has been engaged in recognizing and honouring the highly deserving achievers of Karnataka with State and National Level Awards from the past 21 years. This honour of high-status includes a classic memento, certificate of honour, medallion, badge, shawl and a sandalwood garland.
Baikampady’s selection was made under non-resident Kannadiga category for the year 2014 and the proposed awardee will receive this revered national level honour in the week-long mega events organized by the foundation during the last week of this month at Nayana Auditorium, located in Raveendra Kalakshetra Campus, Bangalore.
