Moodbidri, Oct 3: A lorry driver hailing from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh was killed by his fellow driver near Southern Beedi Company near Alangar here on Monday October 2 night.
The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Singh (35). He was murdered by another driver Shivkumar who too hails from Madhya Pradesh. Both of them had come driving two different lorries carrying beedi leaves from a company in Madhya Pradesh.
While Shivkumar had reached a couple of days ago, Kuldeep had reached town only on Monday evening. As they were unloading the leaves, Shivkumar questioned Kuldeep about the expenses that he submitted to the company. Apparently, Kuldeep used to swindle some money. So Shivkumar questioned this with Kuldeep. Enraged by this, Kuldeep is said to have abused Shivkumar who in turn hit the former on the head with an iron rod.
As a result, Kuldeep sustained serious injuries in his head. Before he could be shifted to hospital for treatment, he breathed his last.
Reports said that Moodbidri police have already arrested the accused and have registered a case against him.
