Mangalore, Oct 3: The youth of Pezar deanery welcomed the Diamond Jubilee Cross (DJC) of ICYM at Sacred Heart Church at Suratkal near here on Sunday October 1.
Fr Anil D'Souza, the Moodbidri deanery director handed over the DJC cross to Fr J B D'Souza, parish priest of Suratkal and Fr Fredrick Monteiro, the Pezar deanery director.
Later, the cross was taken on procession organized by the deanery youth council. More than 500 people took part in the procession.
Fr John Mendonca, the dean, preached an inspiring homily on the occasion.
