Indian men lose to Thailand in Asiad Sepaktakraw

Incheon, Sep 24 (IANS): Indian men's Sepaktakraw team lost 0-3 to Thailand in their second Group A match of the 17th Asian Games at the Bucheon Gymnasium here Wednesday.

India, who lost to Japan Tuesday, failed to put up a fight as they lost the first two games in each of the Regus.

In Regu 1, they lost 6-21, 13-21 in 27 minutes while in Regu 2, their standard dipped further, losing 9-21, 3-21 in 21 minutes.

India's woeful performance didn't change as they lost 9-21, 5-21 in 21 minutes in Regu 3 to slump to a humiliating defeat.

India's chances to qualify for the semi-finals appear to be bleak as they are languishing at the bottom of the Group A standings with Thailand, Korea and Japan, occupying first three positions.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semis.

Indian women's team will take on Thailand in their second group match later in the day.
