Mangalore, Oct 2: Call it a day of road mishaps or doomsday, over 8 instances of road accidents were reported on Oct 1.
Rash driving resulted in an accident at Kuntikan Junction wherein a tempo rammed into an auto rickshaw. According to the complaint, Rangaswami the driver of a Tata 407 Tempo drove in his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw.
The auto rickshaw driver Valarian Pais (35), a resident of Barebail Bejai sustained minor injuries.
Shabarish and Sudharshan who were traveling in an auto rickshaw sustained injuries when a lorry tipper collided into their vehicle within Kavoor police station limits.
A bike rider dashed his vehicle against another motorcycle in Bajpe Police Station limits. The latter sustained minor injuries.
A lorry turned turtle on NH 48 at Shiradi village. It is said that Saleem Shaheen the driver lost control of the vehicle. The cleaner Tabaraq Khan of Hassan district has also been injured.
A case of non-fatal road accident has been registered in Puttur town police station where one Yashodara, a motorcycle rider hit Niranjan (26), a resident of Madattaru house Vittal. However the pedestrian escaped with minor injuries.
