Doha: 26th CDC Cricket Tournament starts

Doha, Sep 21: In the inaugural match of the 26TH CDC Cricket Tournament 2014, hosts CDC were beaten by new entrants QSTec by 69 runs.

At the inaugural ceremony Mr. Sanjiv Jain, Business Development Manager of CDC was the Chief Guest and previous resident of Qatar Mr. Sunil was the Guest of Honor.

 

Winning the toss QSTec elected to bat. They were all out for 141 runs in 16.3 overs. Sohail was outstanding scoring 38 runs with 3 sixes and 3 fours and he was assisted by Kamran who scored 18 runs with 3 boundaries whereas Shaheed, Hilal and Sayeed Abbasi contributed 17 runs each.

CDC bowler Irfan was outstanding claiming 5 wickets in 2.3 overs giving away just 13 runs. This earned him a special prize. Rajesh took 3 wickets while Prakash and Nabil took a wicket each.

In reply none of the CDC batsmen were allowed to settle down and the team was all out for 72 runs in 13.5 overs. Suresh and Prakash were the only successful batsmen. They scored 20 runs and 16 runs respectively.

Sandeep was the most successful bowler for QSTec claiming 4 wickets including a hat-trick giving away only 6 runs in 1.5 overs. Sayeed Abbasi took 2 wickets while Ali, Kamran, Taimoor and Mantah took a wicket each.
