Margao, Sep 29 : Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM) has announced its annual Awards in the field of Literature, Journalism, Teaching, and special Award for contribution towards Konkani, which will be presented to awardees, on its 44th anniversary on September 30 during a special programme.
The late Narsinh Damodar Naik Award in the literature field of year 2005 has been announced to Prof. Prakash Pariekar for his ‘Dawarnnem’ book written in Devanagari script. Also Konkani Bhasha Mandals Award for literature has been announced to Willy Goes for his Novel in Romi script entitled as ‘Khaand’ and Romio Almeida has bagged the late Rock Barreto Award for his ‘Amori Amurpiki’ a collection of essays in Romi script.
A Special Award for contribution of work towards Konkani will be presented to Antonio Da Piedade Moraes.
Ligorio Furtado Journalism Award will be awarded to well-known Writer and Stalwart of children literature Tukaram Shet and Teaching Award to Ashok Kamat.
Radhika Shetgaonkar (SSC), Purwa Gude (SSC), Chitralekha Naik (HSSC), Sonali Coddnakar (HSSC), Petcy Sebistiao Pereira (MA) will be felicitated at the hands of the Chief Guest, for passing out with good marks.
All the former presidents of KBM will be felicitated on the occasion.
