Mumbai, Sep 19: "Billawa Samaja which has spread throughout the world is involved in several activities. It is a matter of pride that our youth has indulged in several types of business including self employment and social service. A forum of such businessmen is being formed under Billawa Chamber of Commerce and it will be conducive to the all round development of Billawa Society," said N T Poojary, president of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga.
He was speaking at the cultural programme held by Bhandup Regional Committee of Billava Jagruthi Balaga at St Lawrence High School, D'
Souza Vadi of Thane Vagle estate recently. Speaking after inaugurating the Nrithya Viabhava programme and after presiding over the programme, he said that the Balaga has developed a sense of unity among Billawas. "Forums such as these are witness to the struggle of Billawas. The Balaga has supported all the Billavas," he said.
"The guidance of senior organizer K Bhojaraj and others has been their inspiration and strength of the Billawas should be taken forward with unity," he said addressing the packed audience.
P V Bhaskar, businessman and social worker was the chief guest. Priest K Sadashiva Shanthi and Balaga's Mukhavani monthly magazine's editor Shiva Poojary were the guests of honour. Special Elites Balaga Women's wing president Sharada Sooru Karkera, former vice president K Bhojaraj were present. Businessmen S R Poojary and Meenakshi S Poojary were felicitated for their valuable service to the society through Balaga.
"The teachings of Ramana Maharshi are incorporated in my life. Awareness means to be aware and inspiring others to live in care. Our aim should be to awaken the society brethren for the well being of the society. The work of the Balaga is really praiseworthy," said P V Bhaskar.
Balaga vice president D B Amin, Purushotham S Kotian, treasurer Padmanabha Poojary and secretary Jaya S Suvarna were present on the dais. Bhandup regional committee executive president Kaup Sadananda Anchan welcomed the gathering. Chitrapu K M Kotian and J M Kotian

Balaga honourary secretary Keshava K Kotian compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks. Balaga women and children presented dances. Abhinaya Mantapa Mumbai troupe presented a Tulu comedy drama titled 'Oikla Dina Barod.'
