Mangalore, Sep 27: District in-charge minister B Nagaraja Shetty has hoped that neighbouring Kasaragod district in Kerala state would merge with Karnataka soon. 

He was speaking after awarding academic excellence awards to 127 students, from Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod district, who excelled in SSLC, PUC and graduation examinations, at Yenepoya Medical and Dental College here recently. 

Shetty lauded the efforts of Islamic Academy of Education in providing education to the underprivileged students.
