Mangalore, Sep 17: A man from Krishnapura, who was unable to bear the agony of getting separated from his son, chose to end his life. It is said that Peter D'Souza (64) was distressed about the fact that his eldest son, who had secured a job in a foreign country, was leaving him for good.
Peter was a resident of Krishnapura fifth block. He resides with his children. On Tuesday, his eldest son was to leave his native place to take up employment abroad. On Monday night, Peter consumed some insecticide found in the house and fell sick. He was rushed to a hospital immediately. The doctors tried to save his life by providing all necessary medications and care.
These efforts went futile, and Peter breathed his last on Tuesday. Suratkal police visited the house and recorded details.
