Doha: KSQ hosts blood donation drive

Doha, Sep 15: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a nodal socio-cultural and philanthropic organisation of expats hailing from the state of Karnataka, organized an annual blood donation drive at Hamad Medical Corporation, Blood Donors unit on Friday September 12.

The noble cause received an overwhelming response with more than 175 people attending the event and 55 people successfully donated blood.

Earlier, welcoming the gathering Deepak Shetty, president of the Sangha stressed on the importance of blood donation and said that it was in line with KSQ’s commitment to do charitable activities aimed at serving the community and country one lived in and also assured the members of more such charitable activities in the near future.

Dr M Vishwanath Kini spoke at length about the benefits of donating blood while Nagesh Rao, vice president compered the event and proposed the vote of thanks.

Kareem Abdulla, ICBF president, Ravi Shetty, president Tulukoota, Niyaz Ahmad, president KMCA, Abdul Majeed, president SKMWA, Divakar Poojary, president Qatar Billavas, V S Mannangi, chairman of Advisory Board KSQ, Arun Kumar, past president of KSQ, past presidents of Tulukoota Seetharam Shetty, Ramachandra Shetty, Asmath Ali and Habib un Nabhi, Milan Arun, ICBF committee member, Iqbal Manna and committee members of KSQ, Tulukoota, KMCA, Bunts Qatar, SKMWA and Qatar Billavas were present on the occassion.
