Hamburg lose, Augsburg win in German Bundesliga

Berlin, Sep 15 (IANS) Hamburg suffer their second straight loss while Augsburg grab their first victory to close the third round of Bundesliga Sunday, Xinhua reports.

Hannover upset Hamburg 2-0 at the Northern derby, thanks to the first-half goals by Leon Andreasen and Artur Sobiech, meanwhile, substitute Raul Bobadilla secured Augsburg' s first win of the season at Frankfurt.

Hamburg slump into the Bundesliga bottom as Hannover staged a faultless performance to grab three points on home soil. The "HSV" posed absolutely no threat for Hannover's defence over ninety minutes whereas Hannover sealed the deal within 24 minutes.

Leon Andreasen broke the deadlock for Hannover with 13 minutes into the game when he made use of a pinpoint cross by Miiko Albornoz. Hannover' s opener was a wakening call for Hamburg as Pierre Michel Lasogga and Lewis Holtby came close to restore parity.

However, it were the hosts who scored as Artur Sobiech poked home the 2-0 lead from very close range at the 24th minute. Hamburg should have reduced the arrears but Artjoms Rudnevs' header was denied by the woodwork at the 66 minute.

After last years relegation battle Hamburg finds themselves again in the Bundesliga basement while Hannover climb on third place.

Elsewhere, Augsburg grabbed their first points of the season by courtesy of Raul Bodabilla' s winner at the 49th minute. Frankfurt failed to cancel out Augsburg' s neat lead, suffering their first loss of the season.
