Udupi: 9-month-old baby drowns in bucket at home

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Sep 14 : In a tragic incident reported from Brahmavar here on Saturday September 13, a 9-month-old baby boy died when he tried to climb a bucket filled with water at home.

Baby Reyon Lewis, son of Raymond and Jennifer, is the deceased.

It is said that Jennifer was in an inside room folding clothes, while Reyon was playing in the hall. Unknown to the mother, the baby entered the bathroom and tried to climb into a bucket that was filled with water.

Unfortunately, the baby fell into the bucket head down, and drowned. When the mother searched for the baby later, Reyon had already breathed his last.

Very sad incident in a Happy Home where a Child should be laughing in Hands of Parents. Instead it is in hands of Almighty. RIP baby.
Now a days we all see that small children of Kindergarten walking to School on side of road when bus drivers, bikers and tippers show off their screwed up show. When We were little, our Parents sent us to school with older pupil. Then there were no vehicles speeding. God is the only Salvation for the little ones on our roads.

Dear all readers it is very important to keep some safety points in mind if small child /children growing at home.
    1) All electrical points which are at lower level on the wall must be covered by Plug /dummy plug cap

    4) Do not leave buckets filled with water any place inside the house including bath room.
    5) In village if cooking is on the floor level by using local wood make sure you make an barricade between cooking area and other houe area.
6)Hot cooket pots/containers must be stored in at least 1 meter above ground or inside close selves.
    7) Always keep balcony doors closed or secured so that child will not reach to to balcony .

What other pressing work the concerned parent had other than ensuring safety of this innocent toddler beats me.This indeed is
a lesson again in tragic circumstances to all to never take things for granted. Especially safety of the little ones.

It would be so difficult to the parents to live with this truth that little life could have been saved if were little more cautious. No one can change the fate but I pray AL-mighty give them courage to endure their sorrow. Such a tragic incident.
