Mangalore: J&K flood relief - DC cautions people, organizations collecting donations

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Sep 13: A release from the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district A B Ibrahim has made it clear that it is mandatory for the persons or organizations who have been collecting donations towards flood relief work in Jammu and Kashmir, to obtain prior permission from the tahsildar of the taluks concerned if they are operating at the taluk level, and the deputy commissioner if the operational area is wider. He has asked them to apply to the said officials for permission to collect donations, by providing necessary details and documents.

He also has warned them that collection of donations either in kind or in cash without obtaining prior permission will attract legal action. He said this warning has been issued in view of complaints received by the district administration about the possibility of collecting money and materials from people and organizations in the name of providing relief to flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir by unscrupulous persons and entities, and then misusing the donations so collected.

The deputy commissioner said that it is our paramount duty to join hands in the relief operations at this period of crisis, and to ensure that the donations so collected in the name of flood relief reach those who are in genuine need of aid. He however, added that it is neither right nor justifiable to seek to misuse the opportunity created by a calamity of such a proportion.

Dear all good will of people,

D.C. is right. We have seen Yeddyurappa and his hench-men collected money from the Loyal citizens of Karnataka, India in the Buckets for the north karnataka flood victims.

All the collected money was Swaahaa/gulum.

Chaaiwaala said in Japan i am a business man, money is in my blood.

Hence dear citizens if you wanted to help, help directly to the victims. not through N.G.O's and organizations.

Don't be duped by giving to....Money may flood in chaaiwala blood.
