Mumbai, Sep 13: Thiya Samaja celebrated their 70th anniversary here recently at Dr M Vishweshwaraiah auditorium, Matunga (W) in the presence of the president of the ceremony Chandrashekar R Belchada.
Jayasrikrishna environmental committee founder Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty was the chief guest at the programme. Akhila Karnataka Jain association president B Muniraj Jain was the honourary guest, Dr Karunakar Bangera, Sri Sasihitlu Bhagavathi Thiya Association president Chandrahas Palan, Sri Kanila Bhagavathi Seva Sangh president Ravi S Manjeshwara, Thiya Samaj Dubai former president Roshan S Bolar were present on the dias. Chandrashekar Belchada inaugurated the ceremony.
Dr Dayanand K Kumbla, social activist Timmappa K Bangera Dr Hemalatha Sunil, writer Hema Sadananda Amin were felicitated by Divya R Kotian, Sujatha Sudhakar Uchil and Vrinda Dinesh.
Dr Karunakar Bangera launched the new logo for the Thiya Samaj Association. After the launch, Dr Karunakar in his speech, he said that the Thiya Samaj plays a remarkable work in the society.
Dr Dayanand Kumbla said, "Life is life. When you give importance to your life you will know the true meaning of living. If you live with good, truth you can build a society."
The newly created website www.thiayasamaja.com was released by Jayakrishna Shetty.
After the release of the website, Jaya said, "Thiya Samaj has completed 70 years and this is the hard work of our ancestors. In the 21st century, for the development of one community everyone should work for it. Caring of other community people is also our responsibility."
"Through organizations we can build the society. Therefore the Thiya Samaj should be recognised among everyone. For the elevation of the soceity, a social worker should know the real meaning of social service," said Chandrashekar Belchada in his presidential address.
Vishwanath U K welcomed the guests. Padmanabha Sasihitlu conducted the prayer service. General secretary Ayil Babu proposed the vote of thanks.
vice president T Babu Bangera, treasurer Ramesh N Ullal, Divija Chandrashekar, Gangadhar Kalladi, Chandra M Suvarna, Padmini Kotekar and others were also present on the occasion.
