Petaling Jaya (Malaysia), Sep 12 (IANS): Golfers Anirban Lahiri and Rahil Gangjee will lead the Indian charge at the $410,000 Selangor Masters to be held at the Seri Selangor Golf Club here Sep 18-21.
Lahiri, who finished second here last year, will be back for another crack at the title as the second-ranked golfer on the Asian Tour bids to reduce American David Lipsky’s lead in the Order of Merit race.
Countrymen Gangjee, who is fourth in the rankings, seventh-ranked S.S.P. Chowrasia and young talent Rashid Khan, who is 10th on the Merit list, will make up a very strong Indian contingent in the tournament.
“I played really well in Selangor last year. It is one of those tricky courses where you need to be patient. It suits my game because it is a tight golf course. I narrowly missed on the play-off,” said Lahiri.
“I’m going to try and go one better next week. I have a lot of positive memories heading back there so it will be an exciting week.”
