Kundapur, Sep 9: 'Under the ambitious programme of adopting one village per year by each of the members of parliament for overall development announced by the central government headed by Narendra Modi, I have chosen Gangolli in Byndoor assembly constituency, a segment of my Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency,' announced former Karnataka chief minister and MP representing Shimoga constituency, B S Yeddyurappa.
Addressing a press conference convened at the residence of Byndoor constituency BJP unit president, Sukumar Shetty, at Vandse in the taluk on Monday September 8, Yeddyurappa said that a survey will soon be taken up to develop 1.5 km of Gangolli seashore at a cost of Rs 29 crore. He called upon party workers to ensure that everyone opens bank account under the Jan Dhan scheme of the Prime Minister. He said he will be discussing about the issues concerning this constituency by bringing together all the elected people's representatives from the constituency in a meeting to be held next month. Later in the day, Yeddy, speaking at a meeting of BJP workers from Vandse zilla panchayat constituency, said that the central government will come up with several schemes once the financial condition of the country stabilizes. The meeting was held in Sri Brahmalingeshwara Kalyana Mantap in Maranakatte in the taluk.
He said the government aims at reducing imports and boosting exports. He expressed hope that because of various measures undertaken by the central government, prices of essential goods will come down further.
