Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 7 (IANS): Mammootty has many reasons to celebrate his 63rd birthday Sunday. First, it coincides with Thiru Onam. Second, his films are doing a brisk business after a long time. And last but not the least - the Malayalam superstar has finally launched his charity project.
The three-time National Award winning star is back in the reckoning after a long gap, thanks to the positive response to his two latest releases - "Munnariyippu” and "Rajadhi Raja".
The actor who has acted in more than 350 films welcomed his birthday Saturday at a function in Kochi by launching Vision 2020 - a programme that aims to make Kerala a cataract-free state.
Among others, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy attended the function and pledged state government's support to the cause, saying funds would not be a problem.
