Mangalore, Sep 7: "The Forum should be clear with its objectives and methodology while leading the fight against corruption. We should also study the various corruption campaigns from the past several years which will be helpful. Instead of relying on numbers, be particular about your methodology," said Ravindranath Shanbhag of Human Rights Protection Foundation.

He was addressing the inauguration of Forum for Justice Mangalore in Town Hall here on Saturday September 6.

Ranindranath Shanbhag cited various cases, like Jyostna Bakery at Manipal and Akku Leela, for which he too was involved in fighting against corruption by using the proper methodology. He added that corruption can be tackled with demonstration and said that numbers do not make changes but the methodology that used to tackle the problem is important.

Former Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde said, "Corruption cannot be eradicated but can be reduced. Corruption which was in thousands, today has increased to crores. Corruption exists because of lack of humanity and increased greed. By birth each on is a homo sapiens but humanity will be acquired only through the process of life."

"In the state, all political parties and officers plan to weaken the Lokayuta act. The state government also prepared a draft on this. People should not allow this to be implemented. The Lokayukta is a powerful institution. The state government will amend the Lokayukta act stating that, they will bring changes keeping the Lokpal bill as a base. This is a baseless statement by the government and people should not allow this," he added.

Dayanath Kotian, convener of Forum For Justice Mangalore said that since the past six months the forum has been fighting against corruption and has achieved success and added that in the coming days the forum will turn it into a mass campaign.

Forum's students, autorickshaw, driver, advocate and women wings were launched on the occasion.

Dr Devaraj K, Director of PG Center, SDM College was present during the inauguration.

Wishing all the success to Justice forum. Justice Hegde and Dr. Shanubogue are the true icons of non-corruption.

I totally agree with Langoo and Valerian. In fact it was not the voters but the media bought by the parties who was responsible for one corrupt party replacing another corrupt party in the last election. The entire last election was fully black money-centric and hence AAP was not successful. But hope they will still sustain and prevail over the corrupt parties which have ruled this country and also now ruling.

LOKAYUKTA LOST ITS IMPORTANCE ONLY BECAUSE OF ITS 1ST AND 2ND REPORTS.
THERE SHOULD NOT BE CONTRADICTORY REPORTS BY THE SAME LOKAYUKTA ON ANY SINGLE ISSUES/PERSON IRRESPECTIVE OF POLITICAL PARTY TO WHICH THEY BELONGS TO.
ACCUSING PEOPLE REPS./MINISTERS WITHOUT PROPER RECORDS TANTAMOUNTS MISGUIDING THE ADMN. & REJECTING PEOPLE VERDICT BY LOKAYUKTA.
ONCE A PEOPLE REP. IS ACCUSED OF ANY ACT HE SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO BOOK AT THE EARLIEST BUT SHOULD NOT BE DRAGGED FOR LONG FOR GAIN.

    People,

All political parties when they are in Opposition are asking for a strong Lokayukta...when they are in ruling they dont want a strong Lokayukta because its very difficult to do corruption with strong Lokayukta....

This is the current status of both ruling and Opposition parties....We need a Corruption free party...we got a Corruption free party in AAP...you morons(Voters) joined together and defeated it...without knowing what you were doing...

Now enjoy with what you have elected....

    ...JH...

Dinesh, If BJP is serious about corruption, then why BJP did not support the LOkpal bill introduced by AAP in Delhi. May be Bjp wanted the law as per its terms. When Gujarat is going to have LOKAYUKTA ??.
