Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SHS)

The MCC team headed by senior health inspector Bharat Kumar with the direction of Dr Manjayya Shetty, health officer, MCC carried the operation in the absence of the street vendors.

However the action unraveled, following the complaints by the public and the police department on the grounds of health of the citizens. The team arrived to the spot at 6 am and removed the shops then loading the pull carts and petty shops to the lorry.

The team cleared as many as 22 shops which were on either sides of the road from Forum to Rosario Church.

Bharath Kumar said that the team cleared many shops like chaat shops, ice cream and other petty shops. The department received many complaints from the public and the police.

"Health officer directed to clear the illegal shops functioning allegedly violating the norm," he added.

He said that the shops would not be seen again as the MCC was stringent against such illegal business operators in the city. The department in the coming days would carry out similar drive to make Mangalore a healthy city.

'Removed illegal' this two words are seen in only in this act . our govt see only roadside shops as illegal.Buildings without set back is legal here, driving without licence is legal here and etc etc.
Does these MCC officials(food department) go and check restaurant kitchens ? i know, they come for inspections and sit in the hotel office and go back after taking fees.

Why only nearby mall area ?
All footpath are meant for pedestrians but not hawkers.
Why MCC interested in Malls ?

This is so much in Bangalore and nobody really care about this. I was standing outside Majestic bus stand and there was a charts stall nearby, a cop (in a black jacket) comes and stands around 10 feet far from the stall and calls the stall guy. He comes puts 200 rupees inside his jacket pocket and goes back to his stall.

Fine agree that we are urging towards a healthy m'lore. They could have raided during the presend of the shop owners. Lot of poor people with some efforts carry out business to make their living. Consider our central market area ?? Does MCC ever took initiative to keep the garbage bins clean ?? Wherever you pass, it stinks. But no, they shall not target or take any initiative on cleaning the garbage. Rather they shall targe the small roadside vendors. What is happening to our govt ?? I am sure, politics and mall owners much have been having glove in hand and poor small timers have lost their carts on which they earn their daily bread. If we are talking about healthy m'lore, then these officers should make a visit to kadri park area.

How can we expect a change if everybody are given chances at every level...
If action is not taken even in this level, then there is no sign of development in Mangalore

Let's not talk always about personal problems. We also must think about public problems.

Yes, ur view is 100% correct and i agree. but why only at that place ? why not in mallikatta ? why not in KSRTC ? why not in Kadri park ? since mall has given extra to officials so they acted immediately and its transparent to public but not transparent officially.

It is very funny to see this operation carried out in pick and choose manner. I suspect it because Mall must have something to do with it, as Elected Minister's family connection is with the Mall itself. Vendors were close to it, giving bad impression.
Why this MCC staff did not see shops near Jugul Hall in Mallikatta,Near Light House on the grounds of Masid, near Central Talkies etc. Money Power has everything in Mangalore.
MCC claims that it took this action on the grounds for Health Reasons due to complains. We,are a Group of Home Owners in Kadri, trying to clear a very unhealthy, Malaria prone property for the last 8 YEARS. Toilet drain water is left out to garden in our area, garbage is thrown, stray dogs are breeding along with poisonous snakes,Mosquitoes can be harvested and sold to Fish Farms as fish feed. College Buses are washed along with Bus crew urinating on open ground. Property was already exposed on Media Headlines, such as Karavali Ale. But Health Department is very busy to take action,as this Property belongs to Elected Minister's Family. Soon this matter will go to higher level along with other Media.

Gareeb Ke Pet Par Laath Math Maaro...
1.Give them warnings and then clear.
    2. Let the law be same for everyone.
    3. Where will this poor people go??
Got my point? And I do believe that some 'powerful hands' were behind this operation. Nothing great about it.
    "Gubbiya Mele Brahmastraa'...
    Try something on 'Vijaya Mallya'
who has deftly swallowed 'public finances' the most powerful law makers! Go after them! What will you get here except leaving behind a 'trail of empty stomachs'? Shameless systems.

you may be right, but i also believe that uncontrolled street shops should be removed.
there must be separate notified hawking zones with municipal inspection about the food quality..
