Udupi, Sep 2: Materialistically many of us acquire a lot, but how many times do we actually consider giving back. It could be the institution we studied in, the people who have helped us or the place that has given us memories and life lessons that will last us a lifetime. Have we truly valued what we have received?
Three youngsters decided to one day express their gratitude for all that they received from a place that has nurtured them during the formative years of their life. Sumukh Thej from Kundapur, Deekshith Bellare from Sullia and Nischith C P from Coorg, decided to do so in an interesting way. While a lot of people move to bigger cities or even other countries to realize their dreams, these three decided to show that happiness to them meant Udupi. Udupi is a place close to their hearts and they wanted to showcase the happiness ingrained in the people here. The ardent zest that people have for life over here and how they really know to enjoy what they have.
The video, aptly named 'Happy Udupi' shows a myriad plethora of people dancing, smiling and enjoying life - Udupi style. Their journey to making this video however was not a bed of roses. They faced their fair share of problems - beginning with the lack of a camera. Robosoft - the company that they work for, came to their rescue and furnished them with a camera for the venture. Their colleagues pitched in their valuable time to help in whatever way they could to help make this video. Many even cancelled their weekend plans to lend a helping hand.
Such unconditionally generous people can only be found in Udupi according to Sumukh, one of the makers of this video. He also revealed that the three of them had taken their inspiration from Pharell Williams who sang the song used in the video namely - Happy. The trio feel that everyone should try to showcase to the world the happiness that is prevalent in their respective cities. There have been many who have attempted to make such videos, from various other places, but these three truly believe they have been able to bring forth a video that offers much more.
The video has been brilliantly edited by Samhan Salahuddin. Ramachandra Naragund, Kiran B, Arpitha K R, Raviprakash K B, Chethan Kumar, Ashwith Raj A, and Varun Ramachandran helped the core team in their efforts.
They look forward to getting positive feedback as well as constructive criticism from all their viewers. The response that this video receives will be instrumental in their decision to make many more such.
Hats off to their dedicated effort.
