Mumbai, Sep 11: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company officials on Monday disconnected power supply to the official residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, 'Ramgiri', as a step to recover dues to the tune of Rs 1,20,000.
The action comes as a part of drive to recover huge dues from the defaulters particularly state government offices, MSEDC sources said adding, the officials are also disconnecting power supply to some offices situated in the Collectorate.
Sources said PWD, which maintains 'Ramgiri' has failed to pay Rs 85,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively of two electric meters of the bungalow, sources said.
The spokesman of the company said Rs 45 lakh as dues was yet to be recovered from these defaulters.
