New York, Aug 30 (IANS): Comedienne Joan Rivers, who was reportedly placed in a medically-induced coma, remains in a "serious" condition at a hospital here, says her daughter Melissa Rivers.
The “Fashion Police” host is "receiving the best treatment and care possible".
Joan, 81, was placed in a medically-induced coma after she suffered a cardiac arrest and stopped breathing during a minor throat surgery Thursday.
"Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery,” eonline.com quoted Melissa as saying.
The family has been inundated with messages of support since news of the comedienne's health scare emerged.
"My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” said Melissa.
