Mumbai, Aug 29: Ram Gopal Verma, who is currently conspicuous due to his absence from the cinema scene seems to have really made his presence known with inappropriate questions on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturti. As everyone was singing praises of Lord Ganesha and having a good time, he went on twitter to ask questions such as if Ganesha could not prevent his own head being cut off how would he save others, namely his devotees.
He also asked that if there were devotees whose prayers had been answered by the exalted obstacle remover that Ganesha is believed to be. He asked such devotees if they could pray that from the 30th of August there would be no problems in the world.
Needless to say, his comments provoked a string of angry retorts from many who sincerely believe in Ganesha. People even asked for his arrest by the police for causing unrest among the public. RGV was forced to retract his comments and issue an apology for his earlier outburst of inane questions on the sanctity of Lord Ganesha.
Many wrote that his remarks were his way of remaining in news when his movies were not working.
