Mangalore: Goa University choir enchants music lovers in city

Mangalore, Aug 24: Music lovers in the city had a memorable evening as Goa University choir, conducted by Prof Santiago Lusardi Girelli, performed at St Joseph Seminary Church Jeppu here on Saturday August 23.

Fr Nelson Almeida, parish priest of St Joseph Seminary Church gave a floral welcome to Santiago Lusardi Girelli.

Marsie D'Lima from Goa and Harriet Vidyasagar from Mangalore were the co-ordinators.

The theme was 'Life and Death' - thoughts on a requiem. The evening took the audience on an enchanting musical journey with perfect symphony beautifully blending with the singing.

Louis J Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhaan, social activist Vidya Dinkar and others were present during the event.

The choir consisted of Chriselle Mendonca (soloist), Sandra Alvarez Diaz (flute), Joyson Sobrinho (Percussion), Ingrid Anne Nazareth (piano), Frederika Cotta (violin) and other sopranos, altos, tenors, basses and orchestra members who added melody to the evening programme.
